Google’s responsibility: the die is cast!

The ECJ will soon answer a number of interlocutory questions asked by several high courts in Europe. Its position is eagerly awaited by European trademark owners.

The point is to set determine the rules that will govern the responsibility of the providers of paying keywords that reproduce or imitate the verbal element of a trademark, and give access to links towards websites offering competing products or services, whether such links be clearly displayed in a special advertising section of the search engine or not.
